Hi! I’m Cris, and I’m so excited to be bringing Kaia F.I.T. to the Natomas area! I love Kaia workouts – no matter your athletic background, current ability, fitness level or age, you’re sure to get a challenging workout and get your sweat on! At the end of every workout you will be proud of what you accomplished and excited for the next workout! No workout is the same, which makes it so awesome…You never know what to expect!

I have been on my own fitness journey over the past 5 years. I went from being an overweight couch potato who couldn’t run a block, to losing 70 pounds and being a four-time Ironman Finisher. I have a passion for helping others enjoy becoming fit, healthy and strong! I can’t wait to have you join us!

I am Health and fitness enthusiast with the passion to teach and coach others to live a healthy lifestyle too..

My love for fitness started after the birth of my twins 8 years ago. I was 60 pounds heavier and felt tired everyday. After my first marathon in 2006, I found a passion for running and with running came the passion to eat better and exercise. I have participated in 3 marathons along with several half marathons, 5k and 10k events..

I love Kaia Fit because it’s challenging and fun! No matter what your fitness level is, you are sure to get a great workout in. Every class is designed different, so you will never get bored. I love knowing that I will see familiar faces and that we will all push ourselves to workout harder.

Heather Bell

Fitness has always been part of my life, but more on the side of playing sports like soccer and volleyball .I had quit my activities and let myself go to raise children. A year and half ago I decided I needed a change and joined Kaia Fit. It was the best thing I could've done for myself because I'm mentally, emotionally, and physically stronger. Now I'm a certified Kaia Fit Coach ready to help you through your journey!

Tina Koepke

In May of 2013 I joined Kaia FIT Natomas as a client for its first BRIK session so I could get back into shape for running. What I found was a turbo charged group of women that encourage each other, strive to meet fitness/health goals, and seek to be the best version of themselves daily. So not only was I able to get back into running shape, I also ran my very first full marathon in December of 2013 surrounded by women that I have grown to love, support me unconditionally, and motivate me to be my best every day.

I have always enjoyed living an active lifestyle. As a high school student I was a member of the JV and Varsity Cross Country team which led me to being a part of the CSU Sacramento Crew Team my 1st year of college. My degree in Biological Sciences and work in the healthcare industry over the years has helped me continue a deep desire to pursue a healthy active lifestyle that I enjoy sharing with my husband and 4 children.

What I love about Kaia is that each woman is celebrated on the unique journey they are on. As a coach I love being able to share fitness and nutrition information to help them each meet their individual needs and goals where they are right now and continue on to adopt a healthy lifestyle going forward.

Christy McKinney

Christy is a Bay Area native and grew up with her mother and her younger brother. She played basketball, volleyball and was a cheerleader for most of her childhood which kept her active year-round, and also enjoyed outdoor adventures as a Girl Scout. As an adult however, she fell into an unhealthy exercise lifestyle and gained 50 lbs when she was pregnant with her son. She always dreamed of being fit as she tried desperately to shed the baby weight. One of her life’s goals was to become a runner and run a mile. She watched two girlfriends have great success with Kaia Fit in 2013. So, in January 2014 she bought a Groupon and began her own Kaia Fit journey. She was hooked and crushed her first BRIK loosing 16 lbs and lots of inches! Christy is passionate about health and wellness and carries this passion with her while she works as a Pharmacy Sales Rep.

She is now proud to say she has ran a 5K and is preparing to run on her first CIM Relay Team with her Kaia Fit Sisters. Becoming a Fitness Coach has been life changing and inspiring other women to live a life they always dreamed of is something she never expected to happen when she joined Kaia Fit. This journey has truly been a dream come true!

Lindsay Shoemaker

Lindsay is a lifelong Fitness enthusiast. She is a trained Dancer and Danced professionally for 15 years with multiple Pro Cheerleading teams and Traveling Groups. Prior to joining Kaia Fit Natomas, she was a Dance Instructor at Get Dancing. She also was the Director of the Sacramento Mountain Lions, Lady Lions Cheerleaders. The Lady Lions were a professional Dance and Cheer team in the United Football League for 3 seasons. Lindsay maintained a 32-member squad of female dancers who performed throughout the Sacramento Community and for 20,000-plus fans on game day. She has completed 3 Half-Marathons, 4 Sprint level Triathlons and numerous (too many to count) 5K-15K’s. Self-described gym rat, she likes to lift weights and take Spin and Dance Classes. When not at Kaia, she works full time for the CA WIC Program as a Trainer, lives with her boyfriend, Chris and their Border Collie, Jack and Black Cat, Jonny.

Caroll Mortensen - Run Coach

Hi I'm Caroll, a Kaia Coach with a passion for sports, fitness and a healthy lifestyle. I love my Kaia workouts and getting my sweat on with my Kaia sisters as we challenge and motivate each other. Kaia has greatly improved my fitness, strength and stamina and made my other fitness passion, endurance running, even more fun! I'm a veteran three 50 mile trail races, five 50K trail races, 17 marathons and dozens of half marathons. I've also done triathlons, mud runs, and even some bike racing. I look forward to sharing my love of an active lifestyle and all the benefits it yields with you. See you in the gym and on roads and trails!

Karen Bartells - Run Coach

If you had asked me five years ago, never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that I would be able to introduce myself as a triathlete and runner! I was mildly active, but have never been an athlete by any stretch of the imagination. A college roommate asked if I wanted to join her for a sprint triathlon. I didn’t own a bike, couldn’t run a block, and was terrified to swim outside a pool. Yet for some reason I agreed, and my life has transformed. Since then, I’ve done many sprint triathlons, two half ironmans, and added running, mostly half marathons and working on my second full marathon. Adding Kaia workouts has completed the transformation, making me stronger and more confident than I ever could have imagined.

I am so excited to share this love of triathlons and running with all of you. If I can do it, anyone can! I want to encourage anyone who’s ever wanted to give it a shot to come out and give it a try. One step, one pedal, one lap at a time…see how far you’ll go!
